For a decade, gray was the default. In 2026, the pendulum has swung hard toward warmth.
Wide-plank white oak
The single most requested floor this year is wide-plank (7"+) white oak in a natural or lightly white-washed finish. It reads as architectural rather than rustic, and it pairs with almost any cabinet color.
Tactile stone
Honed limestone, brushed marble, and cleft slate are replacing polished surfaces. Designers want stone that feels like something — not just looks like something.
The quiet rise of SPC
In busy homes, SPC stone-core vinyl is winning the “looks like wood, survives everything” category. It's the trend you don't see on Instagram because it photographs like hardwood.
